How to Import Minecraft Schematics

Every build on MinePilot comes with a .schemfile (Sponge Schematic format). Here's how to use it in your Minecraft Java Edition world.

Method 1: WorldEdit (Recommended)

  1. Install WorldEdit mod or plugin for your server/client (Fabric, Forge, or Bukkit/Spigot).
  2. Download the .schem file from any MinePilot build page.
  3. Place the file in your Minecraft schematics folder:
    .../minecraft/config/worldedit/schematics/
  4. In-game, stand where you want the build, open chat, and run:
    //schem load build-name
    //paste
  5. Use //undo if you need to reposition.

Method 2: Litematica

  1. Install Litematica mod (Fabric).
  2. Download the .schem file and place it in:
    .../minecraft/schematics/
  3. In-game, open Litematica menu (default: M key).
  4. Click "Load Schematic" and select your file.
  5. Use "Schematic Placement" to position the ghost overlay.
  6. Build block-by-block following the overlay, or use "Easy Place Mode".

Method 3: Build Layer-by-Layer (Survival)

  1. Open any build page and check the Materials list — gather all required blocks first.
  2. Use the Layer Guide to build one Y-level at a time, from bottom to top.
  3. Each layer shows exactly which blocks go where — perfect for survival mode where you can't just paste.

Bedrock Edition

Bedrock Edition (.mcstructure) export is not yet supported. All MinePilot builds currently target Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.1+.
